O.k., over at SweetShoppeDesigns they want you to post on your blog your best bday to receive a point (after so many points, you get a % off your buying total). So here is one of my best bday memories:
The story starts a year before ... It was probably the worst bday I had ever had. Not because of what anybody did, just one thing after another went wrong. It was just "one of those days" and it was on my bday. My dad had come over to celebrate with my family and everyone was doing their best to brighten up my day. The tradition for my birthday was getting Baskin Robin's "German Chocolate Cake" ice cream. I LOVE that flavor and it is only in stores from Oct.-Dec. So Jim left to go get my ice cream ... the highlight of my day. About 15 minutes later he calls and apologises over and over. They ran out of my ice cream and no Baskin Robin stor within 20 miles had it either ... they called and checked. Every store had run out of German Chocolate Cake. I cried. Yes, as pathetic as it sounds, I cried. That was how horrible my day was ... it was the "icing on the cake".
Fast forward 11 1/2 months. Jim comes home from work and before he comes in the door, he yells for the girls to come out to the garage. They all come walking in with, I believe, a 20 gallon tub of German Chocolate Cake ice cream!!! Jim did not want me to have to go through what I went through the year before, so he bough the full tub ... imagine waling into Baskin Robin's and ordering a scoop of ice cream. The tub they scoop it out of, THAT tub!! ... so that I would not run out of ice cream on my birthday. Is that love or what?!? I was stunned, happy, and thinking of all the calories I was going to consume, because I was going to eat that full tub of my favorite ice cream. :) Happy memories ... sigh ... :)
